Top five beaches in Corfu

Corfu is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in Greece, offering a mix of crystal clear waters, white sands, and amazing views. Whether you’re after hidden coves, secluded beaches or lively shores, this island has it all.

In this article, we’re diving into the top five beaches in Corfu that you definitely shouldn’t miss.

porto timoni

Porto Timoni Beach is one of the island’s most stunning spots, famous for its twin coves and incredible views.

Reaching this beach requires a bit of a hike downhill (around 20 minutes), but the reward is beyond worth it. Halfway there you will be rewarded by an amazing view, that you can see on the first picture below.

Once you arrive, you will encounter two turquoise bays on either side of a narrow strip of land. This is the perfect place for a refreshing swim and some relaxation in a breathtaking setting. Of course, every beautiful spot has its share of crowd, so make sure to arrive early.

Of course, such a stunning spot attracts its share of visitors, so it’s wise to arrive early. Besides, you’ll want to avoid the hike back up during the heat of the day.

Limni beach

Limni Beach is a unique and secluded spot that feels like a secret hideaway. Like Porto Timoni, it’s a narrow strip of sand, bordered by crystal-clear waters on both sides.

Getting to Limni Beach involves a bit of a hike through lush landscapes (around 25 minutes), but the journey adds to its untouched charm. Once you arrive, you’ll be able to dip in the refreshing water and enjoy the sun. Be careful, as the shaded areas are beneath cliffs where rocks could fall.

The beach is also reachable by boat, so in the early afternoon, there will be more movement on the beach as people will come and go by boat.

Rovinia Beach

Close to Limni Beach is Rovinia Beach.

Rovinia Beach is a hidden gem for those who crave tranquility and natural beauty. Accessible only by boat or a fairly easy hike through a forested path (around 20-40 minutes depending on your starting point), with its clear blue waters and pebbled shoreline surrounded by cliffs, this secluded beach feels like a private paradise.

Giali beach

Giali Beach is a hidden paradise that rewards those who seek it out with a peaceful escape.

Tucked away from the bustling tourist spots, with its crystal-clear waters and pebbled shores, this beach feels like a secret spot.

Getting there, though, is part of the adventure and is not for everyone. The hike down is very steep, you’ll need to rappel down using the ropes that have been set up for this purpose. For those afraid of heights, note that it will be quite challenging.

If you decide to visit this beach, come prepared with sneakers, not just flip-flops. Wear a hat and sunscreen for the hike, and bring a backpack so you can keep your hands free for using the ropes.

But once you arrive, you’ll find the effort was more than worth it : the landscape is unreal, and since not many people brave the hike, you’ll have the beach almost to yourself.

I would say this one is perfect for those looking to escape the crowds and soak up some peace and quiet, after a strenuous descent !

cape drastis

Cape Drastis is known for its dramatic cliffs and hidden coves, it’s not your typical beach, but rather secluded rock formations.

This remote beach area is a bit tricky to reach, with a rugged path that requires some effort to navigate. If you have a rental car, I would advise to park it at the top (where most of the cars are) and get there by foot (around 30 minutes). Plus, you can appreciate the stunning views and unique rock formations during the walk. Once you make your way there, you can easily get int the fresh water and relax in one of the secluded bays.

We found it better than Kanali tou Erota because it’s way less crowded and you don’t have any construction around, it is still untouched and natural.

And that wraps up the top beaches to see when in Corfu !

This top five of beaches in Corfu provides a great blend of stunning scenery and tranquil escapes. Whether you’re drawn to hidden coves, golden sands, or crystal-clear waters, each beach offers its own unique charm.
