Are you coming to Stockholm and looking for some restaurant recommendations ? You’ve landed on the right page !
There are tons of great places to dine or have a snack in Stockholm, I’ve tried a few and listed for you the best ones below !
So whether it is a bakery to try the best Kanelbulle, typical swedish food halls, or world cuisine to change the flavours, I’ll list here some restaurants recommendation for you.
If you are in Stockholm, you can’t miss eating out in swedish food halls.
The first one would have to be Östermalmshallen. These 1880s food halls have several cafés and stalls selling fish, seafood and fresh produce. The setting is truly splendid !

The second one is Hötorgshallen. These swedish food halls (market and restaurants) are located in Norrmalm district, quite close to the train station.

First of, you can’t leave Stockholm of Sweden without having tried their famous Kanelbulle (which could be translated as “cinnamon brioche”).
There’s a bakery chain called Bröd & Salt, with stores all over Stockholm, that makes truly delicious ones !
We tried so many different flavours (cinnamon, cardamon, almond or marzipan…).
They cost around 3,5€/4€ each and they never disappoint !

Another swedish specialty is the famous meatballs and puree combo. We personally don’t like this dish so we didn’t tried it in Sweden but apparently THE best places to try it are :
- Nomad Swedish Food & Bar : for 18,5€ you’ll have swedish meatballs, puree and some sides
- Meatballs for the People : 20€ for 6 meatballs, puree and gravy, plus you’ll get to chose your meat (it can be pork or chicken, but also boar, moose, bear or reindeer).
We absolutely loved the food scene in Stockholm ! There are so many different kind of cuisine you can get to try.
For an amazing Turk restaurant, head to Çok in Sofo. We tried the hummus with warm pita, halloumi, and a kebab plate. The whole evening costed 29€ for 2 people and it was generous portions, but most importantly, sooo flavourful.

Next destination : Italy ! We tried BASTA, located close to the train station as well.
A tremendous effort has been made on the decor, you almost feel in Roma or Milano :

We chose the Paradiso Pollo (chicken with lemon sauce spinach, pine nuts and chili flakes), and the Pasta Tartufo (creamy truffle sauce and marcona almonds). For dessert we shared the Black Mamba which is kind of like profiteroles (absolutely delicious). That brings up the total to 52€ for 2 people.
I absolutely recommend those two restaurants if you don’t feel like swedish cuisine every night !
We went a few times to K25, located in Norrmalm. This food court has more than ten different stands with cuisine from Greece, Japan, Korea, Italy…
The sitting area is quite big and they are open non stop from 11a.m to 9p.m. so it’s a great option when you fancy a late lunch in this city !
Dishes are around 10-15€ so it’s also really affordable for Sweden.

That’s it for my restaurant recommendations in Stockholm !
We had a wonderful time trying all the best food there and I’m sure you will too !
